Let's Hear it for the Boys!

So many of us card makers seem to find making masculine cards a challenge, but mostly the men in our lives like the same things we do - the fact that someone cared enough to hand craft a card for them!  I love to make cards for blokes :)  These first two cards were made for my brothers.  The balloons were mounted on dimensional foam and tethered with paper sting, and a little stickles glitter for fun.

I'm having so much fun with the blueprints stamps from Stampers Anonymous (Tim Holtz designs in collaboration with Joe Rossi).  Another common theme on these cards is Sizzix texture folder backgrounds using Core'dinations cardstock - so fun to emboss then sand to add texture and reveal the core color.

This card was for a handy guy, the tools are popped up on dimensional foam.  One of the most common pitfalls in making masculine cards is avoiding color - so often a palette of muted browns and greys appears on cards for the guys, but in fact men react most strongly to bright colors and contrast.  So break out the color and texture tools in your arsenal to whip up some cards for the men in your life.
