Wandering Into a New Year

Well here we are again my friends, wandering along right into another new year, time passes as it should and must, and we go along with the flow.  I have been having a lot of fun lately experimenting with art journals, stencils, spray inks, and of-course as always my beloved rubber stamps :)  This page was made in the first days of 2016, that lovely time of enjoying the calm of a post-holiday pause, reflecting on the year just past, planning and dreaming before venturing into the new days ahead.

If you have been considering art journaling I'd like to encourage you to dive in.  Don't think too much before-hand, just grab a journal or some paper, the art supplies you have on hand, and let the magic happen on the page in front of you.  Consider it art play, it's just for you - you don't have to be an expert or even share the results, you can experiment with your materials without any pressure at all - just be aware that somehow in the process of that play you will find that your own thoughts and feelings become clearer, like regular journaling or walking a labyrinth, there is something in the process of journaling that is very clarifying and revealing, allowing you to process your thoughts and move forward.  It's an invigorating and inspiring process for me, I hope you will find it has the same benefits for you.

Reading back over previous posts on this blog I see that it is not only a creative outlet, but also a diary of sorts, documenting the little things that are going on in life, so I'd like to make entries more consistently, even if no-one is reading, just for my own reverie.  We'll see how long that lasts :)  So tell me - what have you been up to, have you had any art adventures lately?  How are you enjoying the passing of time in your corner of the planet?  Feel free to leave a link to your blog in the comments.

Thanks for wandering by :)
